LATROBE, Pa. (AP) — Police say a western Pennsylvania woman was caught teaching her 12-year-old son to drive — while she and four other children were passengers — because she wanted him to be the “man of the house.”

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (http://bit.ly/2duYKWo ) reports Latrobe police charged 33-year-old Carrie Geyer earlier this week after investigating an incident in August when her car was stopped by an officer who saw it driving erratically.

Police say the boy was driving and Geyer was in the front seat with a 5-year-old in her lap. Three other kids, ages 4, 5 and 12 were in back.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for the Seward woman, and a phone listed in her name was disconnected Thursday.

She’s being mailed a court summons for five counts each of endangering children and reckless endangerment.
