HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Firefighters are gathering in Pennsylvania's capital to honor one of their own killed in a traffic accident responding to a call that left two children dead.
A procession honoring Harrisburg Fire Bureau Lt. Dennis DeVoe will make its way to the Forum Auditorium on Friday.
DeVoe was headed to a house fire on March 10 when his vehicle was struck by motorist who authorities say was driving under the influence.
Authorities have blamed the fire on an exploding hoverboard. It would be the first fatal hoverboard fire in the U.S. if definitively linked to the two-wheeled, battery-powered scooter.
Two children died from injuries sustained in the blaze.
