St. Martin of Tours in Jackson, Pa., has been blessed by the Capuchin Sisters who have established a convent just across the street from our church.
Their prayers and joyful presence has been a tremendous blessing. Each year, the Sisters offer a beautiful fall foliage retreat at St. Martin’s. We so often, hear from those who wanted to come but forgot or did not write down when the Retreat was to be held. So this year we thought we would make the information known early so everyone who wishes could mark it on their calendar as a reminder.
The 2018 retreat will be held Sept. 29. It usually runs from mid-morning to just before 3 p.m.
Two of the sisters give a talk on issues of the day and ways to enhance one’s relationship with their Savior. Father Cramer offers generous time for confessions and there is a closing Mass. We ask that everyone bring a lunch that can be eaten outside. A picnic basket, blanket or folding chair are fun if the weather is co-operative.
There will be coffee and tea offered. The Retreat is for Men and Women. It is always a very beautiful time away from a busy world. There is no charge and no need to make a reservation. One does not have to be a Catholic to appreciate the beauty, joy and happiness of the Capuchin Sisters or their wonderful insights into becoming a better Christian.
So mark the date and plan to attend. There will be a public reminder closer to the date.
