Alvan and Patricia Dalon, Thornhurst, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary May 17, 2017. They were married by Rev. Roy T. Henwood at Firwood United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre. Their attendants were Nancy Pickering Dwyer, maid of honor; and Jack Crew, best man.
Alvan was formerly a partner at Crew‘ s Texaco Service Station and retired as a correction officer at the State Correctional Institution, Dallas. Patricia was a bookkeeper for the Sunday Independent until its closing and retired from United Health Care, Nanticoke.
The couple have two daughters: Nancy and Carol, both of St. Augustine, Florida.
A trip to Florida is planned to celebrate the occasion.
