Members of the Dr. Edwards Memorial Congregational Church, Edwardsville, recently honored Betty Stull Bolen for her 75 years of service to the church choir. A commemorative plaque was presented to Bolen by current choir director Carol Jones Wolosz. John DiRico, chairman of the trustee board, presented a remembrance, and a tea was held for all church members following the church service given by Bolen’s daughter Bette Lee Bolen Devers. Bolen joined the Junior Choir in 1933 and became a member of the Senior Choir, which were part of a local radio program at WBAX and performed concerts in New York and other locations. Bolen was married to the late Merle Bolen and has a daughter Bette Lee Bolen Devers, son-in-law Phil Devers and three grandchildren, Megan, Erin and Lauren Devers. From left are: DiRico; Jones Wolosz; Bolen; the Rev. Louis Falcone, pastor; and J. David Jones, chairman of Board of Deacons.
