Albert Tomolonis

    Albert J. Tomolonis, of Beade Street, Plymouth, died Wednesday at Mercy
   
Hospital, Wilkes-BarreBorn in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and
Louise Tomolonis.
   
He lived in Plymouth most of his life and was a graduate of Plymouth High
School, class of 1940.
   
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Butner and
USS Tolovana in the Pacific Theater.
   
He had worked for the Carey, Baxter & Kennedy Co. in Larksville, and was
last employed by Pagnotti Enterprises, West Pittston, as a heavy equipment and
shovel operator.
   
He enjoyed gardening and was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Church,
Plymouth.
   
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Tomolonis, Domicella Pilinko
and Antoinette Volunkonis.
   
Surviving are his wife, the former Phyllis Akromas; a son, Dennis,
Pittsburgh; a daughter, Mrs. Andrea Mittrick, Dallas; a grandson, Mark; a
sister, Mrs. Mary Garrubba, Kingston; nieces and nephews.
   
The funeral will begin at 10:45 a.m. Friday from the S.J. Grontkowski
Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11
a.m. in St. Vincent dePaul Church.
   
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today.
   
A Christian wake service will be today.
