The department of mathematics at Misericordia University recognized Michael Gottstein, of Drums, as its top graduate and he received the Dr. Joseph Tomasovic Memorial Award that is given to the graduating mathematics student who best represents the department and displays exceptional commitment to both the mathematics department and Misericordia. He plans to pursue a Ph.D. in mathematics at Binghamton University in the fall. At the presentation, from left, are: Gottstein and Dr. Jay Stine, chair, department of mathematics.
