TOBYHANNA — A northeastern Pennsylvania caretaker has pleaded guilty to murder in the death of a 92-year-old man who had been living with her.

The Pocono Record reports Judith Marc entered the guilty plea to third-degree murder on Monday in a deal with prosecutors.

William Collins was found dead in his wheelchair in December 2014 in Marc’s home. Police say he had suffered a broken neck and head trauma.

Police accused Marc of trying to cover up Collins’ death by saying he choked on peach slices.

Court documents said Marc was the lone beneficiary of the victim’s estate. Authorities allege she had tried to take out a $500,000 life insurance policy on him a few months before his death.

She’s now awaiting sentencing.
