TREXLERTOWN — Police have charged a 19-year-old Pennsylvania man in a scary school bus prank involving a “Scream” mask and a fake knife.

Police in Upper Macungie Township say Jason Santo boarded the Parkland High School bus early Tuesday wearing a black cloak, the mask and carrying the fake knife. He screamed then ran away.

Police say someone followed the school bus intruder to Santo’s home and alerted authorities.

Police say Santo acknowledged pulling the prank, saying he is friends with a student on the bus and was trying to scare him.

Police have cited him with disorderly conduct and unauthorized school bus entry.

The Associated Press could not immediately located a phone number for Santo.
