LEHMAN TWP. — Lake-Lehman School District officials say there will be a strong police presence at all district schools on Wednesday following “unsubstantiated rumors of a threat against the district.”

The news was disseminated Tuesday night through the district’s Facebook page and other channels.

District officials said they are working in cooperation with the Lehman Township police department, which is investigating the matter.

“It is important to note that we have no credible evidence to support these rumors,” the statement read. “However, it is our policy to thoroughly investigate each rumor to guarantee the safety of our students.”

Updates will be made as more information becomes available, the statement concluded.

Efforts to reach district Superintendent James McGovern were not immediately successful Tuesday night.
