HAZLETON — City police arrested a man after he reportedly stabbed his cousin early Monday.

Delvy Duran, 41, is accused of stabbing his cousin twice.

According to a press release from Hazleton Police Chief Jerry Speziale:

Police responded to a residence in the 800 block of North Locust Street for a reported stabbing victim.

Following an investigation, officers took Duran into custody.

The victim was subsequently transported to a local trauma center for wounds to his lower back and left shoulder.

The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Duran was arraigned by District Judge Ferris Webby and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault plus counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment of another person, harassment and disorderly conduct.

“Domestic incidents are extremely unpredictable and dangerous,” said Speziale in the release.
