WILKES-BARRE — Digital media and marketing firm Coal Creative has announced a complete rebrand for 2019.

“Due largely to increased growth in 2018, the company’s rebrand will more adequately reflect the scope and scale of its capabilities in the creation of a new website, tagline, logo, and new specialized positions within the team,” a statement released last week indicated.

Coal Creative is a full-service creative agency providing website, video, social media, design and other services to local businesses and non-profit organizations across the region.

Founder Gerard Durling has previously described the company’s origins thus: “Coal Creative was formed on the idea that we as a team could create big city results no matter our location.”

Its website is www.coalcreative.com.

“Coal Creative embodies everything that is great about Northeastern Pennsylvania,” said Joseph Boylan, executive director of Wilkes-Barre Connect stated. “Young, talented and proven individuals, working together as a team to uplift the region with their exceptional quality of work, passion and determination to make an impact. Their ability to listen and customize strategies to meet all types of business across every industry is what sets them apart – and why they are and will continue to be a trusted partner of Wilkes-Barre Connect.”

According to the release, the new logo and tagline — “Fuel your marketing” — are designed to “bring a powerful new visual identity” and give the brand a bold, sleek character.

“This word-choice speaks to its capacity to ceaselessly act as the driving force for the tangible application of imagination for companies and its branding through the tumultuous and ever-changing landscape of marketing in the world today,” the release stated.

Coal Creative was named as one of NEPA’S Best Places to Work in 2018 and honored by the Times Leader during a reception last month.

Event sponsorship

In addition to its rebranding, Coal Creative also is sponsoring two networking events this month:

• The NEPA Networkers 2019 Kickoff Event, a winter mixer, is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. this Wednesday at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in Scranton.

This event is open to existing and new members, and there are no formal membership or dues for the group. For this particular event, admission is $15 at the door and includes light appetizers. A cash bar will be available.

• The Wilkes-Barre POWER! January event is set for 6-8 p.m. Jan. 24 at Isabella Restaurant and Bar, 1140 Route 315 in Plains Township.

The evening will feature professional networking, drink specials, great appetizers, professional photography and filming by Coal Creative’s team.
