SCRANTON — A Kingston man pleaded guilty to a federal charge of drug delivery resulting in death last week, admitted fentanyl he provided to a young woman ended up killing her.

Michael F. Bogdon, 26, entered the plea June 6 court records show. Morghan Michalek, 18, died in her Kingston home on Dec. 13, 2017, as a result of an overdose of the opioid fentanyl.

Bogdon was indicted by a federal grand jury in February 2018, and entered the guilty plea late last week. He faces a minimum of 20 years in prison, but could be in prison for the rest of his life. He could also be fined up to $1 million.

A plea agreement written in April shows prosecutors are reserving the right to recommend the maximum sentence at his sentencing hearing, but they have chosen to forego pursuing possession charges he was facing.

Records show he’s scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 6. He’ll also be going to trial on state drug crimes that month stemming from his arrest.
