Jessica Bachman, PhD, MS-MPH, R.D., of Scranton, received the Emerging Dietetic Leader Award from the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The award recognizes the activities and competence of dietitians, regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions early in their career to the Academy.

Bachman received her Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences from the Pennsylvania State University, State College, and completed Master’s degrees in nutrition and public health and her dietetic internship through the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee.

Bachman also holds doctoral degree in nutrition with a concentration in exercise science from the University of Tennessee. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Exercise Science at the University of Scranton.
