In a recent TV ad, state Sen. Scott Wagner says that Gov. Tom Wolf has enacted “never-ending tax hikes.”

It is true that Wolf has signed some legislation approved first by the Republican-controlled General Assembly that increased “sin” tax revenue to help balance previous state budgets.

It is also true that Wolf “proposed” taxing the gas natural gas industry, but none of these tax proposals have been enacted, and the present state budget is being funded by borrowing against future “tobacco” settlement revenue.

It is not true that Wolf increased the state’s personal income or sales tax rates. Wagner and Paul Mango both propose eliminating school property taxes by increasing these two state taxes.

Do you want your local tax money going to Harrisburg for the state’s politicians to squander? I don’t. Keep it local.
