Jack Farrell scored 17 points and Dallas held Hazleton Area to a season low for points in its 52-39 upset Friday night in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 boys basketball.
Nick Nocito scored 11 for Dallas, which improved to 6-4 in the division and 9-7 overall.
Da’Mir Faison scored 16 to pace Hazleton Area, which fell to 9-2 in the division and two games behind in the loss column to first-place Crestwood. No other player scored in double figures for the three-time defending divisional champion Cougars, who are now 10-5 overall.
Pittston Area 69, Wyoming Valley West 56
Brennan Higgins netted 17 points to lead four Patriots in double figures.
Logan Booth had 14, Sevion Leak had 12 and Mike George tossed in 11 for Pittston Area.
Tom Federici scored 17 for Valley West. Tyler Gillespie and Roland Hamad each had 12.
Crestwood 84, Coughlin 37
Crestwood used a 29-point second quarter to pull away for the victory.
Camden Boris scored 16 points for the Division 1 first-place Comets. Ryan Petrosky had 13 and Sean Murphy tossed in 10.
Tony Egidio led Coughlin with 11 points.
BOYS SWIMMING
Hazleton Area 94, Nanticoke Area 75
Tony Goulstone won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke to pace Hazleton Area.
Also picking up individual wins for the Cougars were Tino Douite (200 free), Tommy Pollock (50 free), Paul Flowers (100 fly) and Ryan Kouvlick (500 free).
Chris Cabonilas won the 100 free and 100 breaststroke for Nanticoke Area.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Hazleton Area 111, Nanticoke Area 59
Abby Goulstone and Marina O’Hara each picked up two victories in Hazleton Area’s win over Nanticoke Area.
Goulstone won the 200 and 500 freestyle races. O’Hara’s wins came in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Alissa Platukis (200 IM), Bridget Reed (100 fly), Sarah Lloyd (100 free) and Sadie Hunsinger (100 breast) were also winners for Hazleton Area.
Nanticoke Area’s only victory came in the 400 free relay event.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
PSU Wilkes-Barre 65, PSU Shenango 52
Penn State Wilkes-Barre moved to 12-0 in the PSUAC and 14-3 overall, winning a tough matchup at home vs. PSU Shenango.
Senior Jordan Williams had 13 points and eight rebounds. Kahlil White chipped in with 13 points, DaVaughn Roberts had 12 and LeVaugn Knight-Soules had 11.

Wilkes 1, Chatham 0
Angelo Marquart scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period and Brandon Gordon made 20 saves on the way to his second career shutout as Wilkes defeated host Chatham in Pittsburgh.
