MOOSIC — The return of Glow-in-the-Park Fridays will lead the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 2017 promotional schedule.

The Triple-A club announced the return of the Glow-in-the-Park Fridays, which will feature black-out jerseys for all Friday home games this season, along with five dates of Dollar Dog Mondays and Two-Dollar Tuesdays. The Legends Series will also return, this time, honoring three “legendary SWB franchise members.” Each of the honorees will be enshrined at PNC Field with life-size bobbleheads. The bobbleheads will be displayed at the PNC Field entrance plaza year-round.

Two-Dollar Tuesdays will include lawn tickets and concession specials for $2.

“Putting the promotional schedule together with our staff is fun and enjoyable while very challenging,” Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders president Josh Olerud said. “We build off of promotions that were successful — Glow in the Park Fridays, Mystery Bobble Head, Dog Days, etc. — and I challenge our staff to create new and exciting promotions that continue to bring more fans and families to PNC Field each and every year. This offseason planning has been a lot of fun capitalizing on the 2016 national championship and Yankees’ youth movement.”

The RailRiders will sport new Baby Bomber caps each Sunday at PNC Field as part of a set of new promotions. According to a tweet from the RailRiders on Tuesday, Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez, first baseman Greg Bird and outfielder Aaron Judge “were behind the inspiration” for the new caps.

“The Baby Bombers were a huge part of the RailRiders’ and Yankees’ success last year and we will be giving away multiple giveaways to honor our talented prospects, including our new Baby Bombers logo that will wear as our Sunday hats,” Olerud said.

Other promotions include Bark-the-Park games, Wrestling Night, Wine and Dine Wednesdays/Ladies Night and Who’s on First?/Baseball Heritage Day. Wrestling Night will feature a visit from a former “wrestling star” and Wine and Dine Wednesdays/Ladies Night will offer wine, beer and concession specials and pre-game tastings.

The home schedule will also include five bobblehead giveaways and 14 nights of fireworks shows. The first fireworks night comes on Opening Day on April 10. Other highlights of the fireworks schedule include the Triple-A National Championship game on Sept. 19 and the Kosher Kaboom on July 18. That Tuesday night will celebrate Jewish heritage and will also have kosher food available before ending with a “special fireworks show.”

The RailRiders were awarded the 2017 Gildan Triple-A National Championship game this past August, just before taking the national championship last season. The game will feature the International League and the Pacific Coast League champions.

“Each month we will be celebrating the 2016 national championship with giveaways, Olerud said. “Highlighting the nights will be Replica Championship Ring Night on June 2. Only way to get one and to see our players receive their championship rings is to be a season ticket holder or Championships Game Plan holder.”
