BOSWELL, Pa. (AP) — State police say a Pennsylvania man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and wounded her male friend as they drove away from the suspect’s home after retrieving her personal effects.

Trooper Stephen Limani says Tyrell Ferguson was calling 911 in the vehicle as 41-year-old Jamie McVicker opened fire about 11 p.m. Sunday outside a home in Jenner Township.

McVicker’s ex, Brittney Kyle, was wounded in the neck and died. Ferguson’s abdomen was grazed by a bullet.

McVicker fled but was arrested early Monday by police in Conemaugh Township.

McVicker was arraigned Monday and remained in the Somerset County jail Tuesday on charges including criminal homicide and attempted homicide.

Online court records show he faces a preliminary hearing March 1 and don’t list a defense attorney.
