Reward offered in suspect’s arrest
   
Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for
information leading to the arrest of Martin John Mayernik, wanted by state
police in Belle Vernon, Westmoreland County, on suspicion of forgery and
writing bad checksIn August of 1989, Mayernik allegedly cashed two stolen
Western Union money transfers, which totaled more than $2,000. He was charged,
released on bail and then failed to appear for his preliminary hearing.
    On Oct. 25, 1991, he was captured by authorities and lodged in the
Westmoreland County prison. On Nov. 18, 1991, at the conclusion of his
preliminary hearing, he was released on bail, failed to appear for his court
trial and has eluded authorities since. A bench warrant has been issued.
   
Mayernik, 45, is a white male with curly brown hair, brown eyes and a light
complexion. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has a medium build
and uses the aliases Marty Hixson, John Allen Franco, Marty France and Marty
Franco.
   
His last known address was in Belle Vernon and he may be employed as a
truck driver.
