PLYMOUTH TWP. — Township residents will be provided with adequate parking when they go to cast their votes on Tuesday, according to Township Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Gale Conrad.

Conrad said because a decline in population following the flooding of 2011, the Luzerne County Board of Elections combined the township’s two wards. The township’s municipal building at 925 W. Main St. will be its sole polling place.

Conrad said about 200 voters were lost after the flood, most from District 2, which lost about 100 homes.

“I would hate to see people fail to vote because they don’t think there will be adequate parking,” she said. “There will be several areas available.”

Conrad credited Luzerne County Bureau of Elections with making every effort to ensure that the township’s transition from two polling places to one was seamless.
