WILKES-BARRE — Following the Republican National Convention, which ended Thursday night, sources told the Times Leader that Donald Trump will make an appearance in Northeastern Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
The sources said Trump will be at the Lackawanna College Student Union Gymnasium, but they could not say what time the event would start.
Trump drew some 11,000 people to a rally on April 25 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre Township.
If Trump does appear here, it would be indicative of what top-level Republicans were saying all week in Cleveland — that Pennsylvania is a key state in the race for the White House. In face, most GOP officials have said that the election could turn on how Pennsylvania goes in November.
Trump’s appearance here Wednesday could be just the start of many visits by the candidates and their surrogates as they try to convince voters to send them to the White House.
