UNION TWP. — A Mocanaqua man who had been missing for about a week was pronounced dead Sunday after a passer-by noticed the man’s Chevrolet Silverado, which had crashed just off Route 11 in Union Township.

Kristopher Feist, 34, was pronounced dead at about 12:30 p.m., according to Luzerne County deputy coroner Dan Hughes.

Feist most recently had been seen at JJ Banko’s Restaurant, state Route 11, Plymouth Township, according to authorities. They said that after the passer-by noticed the vehicle Sunday, that person called police, who found Feist’s body in the truck.

Hughes said the death will be deemed a result of “multiple traumatic injuries due to a motor vehicle accident.”

According to Hughes, there will be no autopsy.
