WILKES-BARRE — The average local price for gas is at $2.60 per gallon today, down a penny overnight and down 3 cents in the last week, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.

That’s right at Pennsylvania’s average price at $2.59, unchanged overnight and down 4 cents in the last week.

Those prices are much higher than the national gas average of $2.29 per gallon, unchanged overnight, and down 4 cents in the last week.

In New Jersey, the average is at $2.38 today, down a penny overnight and down 4 cents in the last week, and in South Jersey, the average is at $2.30, down a penny overnight and down 6 cents in the last week.

The Delaware gas average is $2.25 today, down a penny overnight and down 6 cents in the last week; Maryland’s average is at $2.31, down a penny overnight, down 4 cents in the last week.

The Philadelphia (5-county) area gas average is at $2.59 today, down a penny overnight and down 4 cents in the last week.
