ROSS TWP. — A family is weighing their options after a fire destroyed their home in Luzerne County.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. the 400 block of Broadway Road, near Sweet Valley.

Firefighters say it was fully involved when they arrived, and a woman who was home got out safely. She was her sitting by her garage.

Neighbors say someone stopped on the road to take care of dogs and ducks that came from inside the home. Several tanker trucks responded to put water on the blaze.

“When we arrived, being that the house was fully involved, it was a completely defensive attack. There were no reports of anybody entrapped or anything like that,” says Capt. David Pall, of Sweet Valley Fire Dept.

The Red Cross says a total of four people lived in the home.

A state police fire marshal arrived at the home this afternoon to investigate the cause.
