KINGSTON — The Luzerne County Transportation Authority has announced that it will offer regular bus service to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport beginning Monday.

The airport stop will be included in the LCTA No. 17 Highway 315 Connector Route. This route, which also services the Mohegan Sun Pocono casino, downtown Scranton, Dupont, Avoca and Moosic, will service the airport on 10 trips — five inbound and five outbound — on weekdays, and six trips — three inbound and three outbound — on Saturdays.

Previously, LCTA offered stops at the airport on only an on-demand/advance-schedule basis.

“LCTA is very happy to respond to the requests from riders that have been asking for this additional service,” said Norm Gavlick, LCTA executive director. “This schedule change will offer both convenience and cost savings to anyone from Luzerne or Lackawanna counties that travel through the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.”

Scheduling information can be found on the LCTA website — www.lctabus.com. Schedules will also be available at LCTA offices, the intermodal transportation center in downtown Wilkes-Barre and at information centers at the airport.
