West Hazleton resident Mike Marsyada was recently inducted into the Pennsylvania Trappers Association Hall of Fame. Marsyada has been a member of the association since 1976 and a life member since 1987. He has been making trapping lures full time since 1978 and has written trapping and furbearer-related articles for national publications for more than 40 years. Maryada has also trapped furbearers in 14 states, promoting ethical and practical trapping methods across the country.
Marsyada has also been a member of the National Trappers Association since 1970 and appeared in the organization’s Master Trapper video series. In addition, Marsyada has served as a certified Hunter/Trapper Training instructor for 30 years, is an active sponsor in the Setebaid Service camps for children with Type 1 diabetes and is a founding sponsor of the National Museum for the U.S. Army.
